(More customer reviews)I bought the same exact unit a few years ago for my Chevy Colorado and it came with a spring to hold it closed. That spring broke so I ended up glueing a couple of earth magnets so it closes tight and stays closed so that problem was easy to solve for less than $2.00. This newer model now has a nylon pinch roller that pulls the door in tight and by appearances, won't break very quickly. If it ever did, the magnet fix would work however I feel confident this closure system is a much better design than the old one.
As for fit and finish, I got polished aluminum and it is polished to look like chrome. I had bought the brushed finish for my pickup only to wish I had gotten polished. I eventually wet sanded it smooth and then buffed it myself so that it now looks like this one - shiney like chrome! Installation takes only a few minutes and in my opinion, they look way nicer than the painted factory doors. The allen screws are stainless and the rest is aluminum so with little maintenance they'll last a long time. When it shows water spots or a little oxidation I simply grab my Mothers aluminum polish and a couple of minutes later it looks as good as new. Waxing it helps as well, it won't require polish as often. Keep in mind that this is naked, uncoated aluminum so it will require a little TLC to keep it from tarnishing. I love both of mine!!!
