The adaptors supplied will allow someone to do what the unit is intended for. My only criticizm is the plastic material the adapters are made of. The plastic gets rather soft being around the engine. I do not believe this affected the testing; however, I was concerned with the adapters breaking when disconnecting them.
Overall, a good purchase and a good value.

Innovate Motorsports 3844 MTX-L Complete All-In-One Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I have been using the hand held unit from Innovate since they came out a few years ago. It worked but was unhandy when you are drag racing. Recently I bought the dash installed unit for my gasser/hot rod. I am running dual holley four barrels on this 428 pontiac engine, sitting on top of a Wenzler tunnel ram intake. I had no idea how to tune it, as I had avoided multiple carbs do to lack of talent. Upon start up, I could look at the guage and instantly tell it was idleing too lean, so a quarter turn out brought her into the perfect zone. By that I mean, instant one pump start ups without a choke, idleing in the 14 to 15 to 1 area. Out for a test drive, I had un-intended benifits from the dual quads, as this baby will run down the highway(in overdrive) and never get off the idle circutes. This means good gas mileage. Making a few rural highway acceloration tests, the guage told me she was running lean on wide open throttle. I went up two jet sizes and walla, I had WOT at 13/1 in third. A trip to the track, first pass set a new best for this car. 12.39 ET at 105 mph. And O by the way, the linkage was binding at 90% open, so I am hopefull that we're not done there. Also, dyno tests have shown my engine might like a little richer WOT, so one or two sizes up, and it's instantly known where you are by looking at the guage. This is one of those tools, like a good MIG welder or a gas op hi pressure power washer, that I wonder how I lived without it. I am here today ordering another one for my 66 GTO

(More customer reviews)For a long time I have been wanting a ScanGaugeII. The price was a little high and the only real use I wanted it for was a MPG gauge as my car does not have one. I recently purchased the ScanGaugeE from Amazon. Shipping was fast as I always get from amazon.
The gauge was easy to install and easy to mount. Included velcro was very helpful and the gauge mounts easily in front of my tachometer(I can still see it easily though.) The included wire is 6' and is plenty long enough to mount just about anywhere you could ever want.

Setting up this thing was pretty easy with the given instructions. The only things that really have to be set at first is engine size and fuel tank size. With these set the MPG estimate seemed very close to what I would expect it to be. I regularly check my gas mileage when I fill up. There is also a calibration method when filling your tank up to make sure the mpg estimate is accurate if you think it is not. I have not calibrated yet as I have not emptied an entire tank.
The capabilities of this thing are quite amazing. 5 screens can be used in "gauge" operation. 3 are preset and 2 are customizeable, each screen has 2 data displays. Screen
1) instant mpg and average mpg for the current trip Screen
2) Current trip CO2 production and Current Day CO2 Production
3) Current trip fuel cost and current day fuel cost
4) custom and custom
5) custom and custom
Things that can be set for the custom displays include system loop status(closed or open), Current Manifold Pressure, MPG, MPH, RPM, Throttle position sensor, and at least a dozen other choices.
I love the ease of use after using this thing for about an hour. I have found out a lot about my driving style and how to improve it even though I already drove conservatively for higher mpg. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to drive more efficiently, learning what is going on in their car, or who just likes cool tech toys (I mean come on, the display has at least 8 or 12 different colors and 3 different brightness settings, I'm reminded of kip from Knight Rider)

However this kit comes with a 2 piece adapter for the pump to attach to the tank. The pump is heavy duty metal and works fine BUT the plastic adapter to the top mounting bung hole is way inadequate and calls to the seller (who referred me to the manufacturer) and the manufacturer (who NEVER wrote back) have left me with a useless product. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. For use in a metal tank i'm sure this'll be perfect but the John Dow plastic tank i bought it for is plastic and the heftiness and durability of this pump is definitely NOT the way to go even thought it specifically says that it is. Don't waste your money or make sure you have a metal tank with metal threading in which case you'd be fine.
