My car's check engine light came on. Engine running fine. Scanned the codes on my 2001 Subaru VDC H6-3.0 using Innova OBD2 scanner (also obtained on Amazon). P0031 and a couple weeks later got P0051 code too. Two bad oxygen sensors. I checked the wiring connectors easily accessed from top of engine to make sure the connections were OK.
Local mechanic quoted me $540 to replace the 2 sensors. Good thing I checked here. These are the same Denso sensors they planned to use, which match the car's original Denso sensors in all but cable color. Arrived in less than a week. Simple instructions included. With car ramps and a 7/8 inch wrench I had both changed in under half an hour in my driveway. Access to the sensors was easy under the car. The connector on the sensor cable end fit through the 7/8 box end, no special "sensor wrench" needed. I cleared the check engine codes and haven't seen them since. Saved over $300...
