(More customer reviews)This is the worst item I have ever come across. The idea and look is gorgeous, but the mechanism and instructions are ridiculous. If you follow the instruciotns to the letter, the cap still will not lock because the spring loaded plunger remains in the way of the lock mechanism, so it will not turn the full 90 degrees and secure itself. The instructions show the metal loch sleeve sliding over the manufaturers plunger casing from the bottom, however, you almost have to bend it over and break it to get it into place, then the pressure from the stock, spring loaded plunger is so strong, it slowly bends the part even more. Even if you do it perfectly, as instructed, it's simply impossible to close, because with the plunger there, even depressed, it leaves no room for the lock to properly latch. I should have seen this one coming before I wasted the money.
I recommend avoiding this item unless you want an afternoon of stress. By the way, mow that I have followed the instructions from DefenderWorx to pull out the stock plunger mechanism, it wont stay put now as originally made, so I have nothing, and it looks like garbage, because the old stock clicking gas cap wont stay down anymore, the whole mechanism comes out, because the orginal adhesive is broken during the install process of this part.
What a waste....and now I will spend more $$$ to get it back to stock.
