Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)The background:
1998 Toyota Camry. Engine was rough, sputtering, heating up, losing power (compression) when it became hot. White smoke from tailpipe. No acceleration when I press the gas pedal. Coolant in Oil.
Mechanic Analysis:
Engine is bad. Head gasket is blown. Recommended junking the car. Otherwise, replacing the engine with one from car in junk yard for $3,000 or replacing the head gasket and rebuilding the engine for $1,800.
Last ditch:
Used one bottle of Head Gasket Repair purchased from Amazon. Followed instruction carefully.
Results:
Initially the engine was very rough. Gradually smoothened down after three days and 40 miles driving. Now, 6 weeks later and 700 miles later, the engine is humming and running like new. All previous bad signs have disappeared. Don't know how long it will last. This car is running on borrowed time. Even six months will be great for the $25 investment.
