(More customer reviews)This programmer does ok except for after a day or two the vehicle's computer regulates the power output anyways. I then changed my spark pugs and wires but that was a big mistake not using Motorcraft parts as the performance tuning didn't agree with it and I had a little bit of bucking and power loss and the engine light come on, so I reset it to factory where it runs fine, until I buy more plugs and wires that will agree with it. *Note the instructions do say that it is tuned for a stock vehicle and that its made for a vehicle that has extra performance parts-they are not kidding.

Superchips 2950 Cortex Programmer Review

(More customer reviews)So I purchased this for my Pontiac G8 GT after much debate between a local tuner and this out of the box tune. Let me say after hearing so many great things about it on the net I decided to give it a shot. It totally woke the car up. Feels like an entirely different car now. The shifts are firmer and more responsive thanks to an adjustable torque management system. You also get the added bonus of being able to retune the car back to stock at anytime. The whole tuning process takes maybe five minutes max.
It is also capable of data logging (0-60mph or 1/4mile times etc). I know it is not 100% accurate but it definetly gives you an idea of your gains over stock after certain tuning adjustments. It can also read and clear check engine codes. All in all I think it is an excellent value and if you ever out grow the tuner than you can always resale it and pick up a good portion of what you spent on it. (More customer reviews)I purchased this product mainly to calibrate for larger tires and bigger gears. The problem is if you own a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic with the 5.3 liter flex fuel motor, this product simply will not work. None of the features will work, you can plug it in and pull the stock tune off the truck but that is it. I spoke directly to the company and they are aware of the issue with this particular vehicle. They have been working on solving the issue but it seems it has taken some while and still there is no tune to make it function as it should.

(More customer reviews)Used this programmer on our 2006 GMC Yukon Denali. Overall drivability was improved using the program for regular gas. A definite increase in horsepower that you can feel at wide open throttle. Looks like a gain of about 1 mpg on our vehicle. Which is a lot when you go from 13 to 14 mpg on the daily commute to work. The transmission shift firmness adjustment was a nice feature that allowed a firmer shift without a neck snapping experience. Stock wide open throttle shifts had a long delay before being reprogrammed and normal throttle shifts were a bit mushy for our taste. Those very smooth shifts can't be all that good for the clutches either. Slow engagement seems like clutch slippage to us. Had to go with 100 percent shift firmness increase setting to get a noticeable crisp shift. The 25 percent setting wasn't really noticeable at all on our vehicle. Well worth the money at Amazon's price. Best we found on the web. Very easy to use interface. Highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)Ok, so I bought this for my: 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext. cab 5.3ltr, 4x4, quadrasteer, K&N cold air intake, Fitch Fuel catalyst, using all AMSOIL fluids. I've always averaged 14.8mpg/city and around 17.5mpg/hwy (I never speed, and didn't change my driving habits for this test).
First hook up to the truck it said it needed to be updated with the internet. But the CD install program wouldn't work, kept giving an error. After calling Tech support I found out the program will only work with XP home & Vista home basic, not any higher editions or 64-bit.(this little tid-bit is not listed online or the box) So I had to use a friends older computer just to program it.
I was really looking forward to this computer making the millage go up but unfortunately it went the opposite direction. I don't tow or have any kind of dyno to check the power gains but with the fuel economy drop I had, it still wouldn't have been worth it for me. On my usual Highway trip a full gas tank was only 12.7/mpg!!! I was shocked! For the fun of it we then used it for a week in town only and only average a bit over 10/mpg. I sure wish it would have helped more with the $4/gal gas these days. So unfortunately, it really didn't work for me. I sent this back as fast as I could...

(More customer reviews)I've purchase Max Energy ECON that was upgraded to Max Energy with ease of USB cable for free. I tried the regular tune program and the was very please with the performance gain of my 2007 Navigator in the beginning. BUT my noticed engine "pinging" after the tuning. I tried 93 octane and it still pinged badly when climbing hills and under acceleration. I tried premium tuning with 93 octane and it still pinged. When settings were returned to factory stock, pinging stopped. I called tech support and they told me that calibration of the uploaded file looked fine so they will have to pass the problem to the R&D team for evaluation. It's been 4 days since problem has been passed to R&D team and I have not heard anything from them. I was told it can take up to week but I was expecting some sort of update. While it's being reviewed by the support team, I've noticed another problem while on either of the tuning program. My transmission makes noise and does not engage right away when gas pedal is pressed for acceleration on turns. Again, I returned the tuning to factory stock and transmission is work perfectly now. Now, with the new transmission problem, it's going to take another week to hopefully have a fix. My concern is that by the time every issue has been looked at and if it's not fixed, I will lose 30 day money back guarantee time limit.
One thing for sure is that this device WILL give you performance gain for sure. Engine runs and idles MUCH smoother and stronger. I have not noticed much on the gas mileage improvement though. If they can fix the pinging and the transmission issue, this device is definite KEEPER and worth every penny. If not, I would try Superchip and see how that goes.

After evaluating my mgp over 1100 highway miles I actually saw a decrease in mpg. The increase in power was negligible. I would not recommend buying this product.

(More customer reviews)I've owned my K&N FIPK cold air intake for about a year now - and I can say that it has certainly increased my gas mileage. Before and after installing it, I paid very close attention the gas gage, as well as the trip computer functions associated with mileage on my jeep. I took that information and was mathematically able to show an average improvement in mileage. However, it was not a large improvement (about 2mpg). Ultimately, the boost in mpg meant that I could travel an additional 40 miles (~20 gallon tank * 2 mpg increase) on a single tank with the new intake assembly. I would say that is worth the investment. But, please note that flooring the pedal at every opportunity will negate any mileage gains. It's also important to maintain your car. Not doing so can also negate any gains.
I have not yet had my horsepower rated, but the bigger and more aggressive sound alone is proof enough for me.
