(More customer reviews)I own a 2005.5 new body style Jetta with the TDI engine. This is a direct replacement for the factory fuel filter. In fact, Mann makes the factory one as well so really the only difference is a much lower price tag and the lack of VW logos printed on the top plastic. It fit perfect and from what I've read, the little metal washer is only needed on certain ones. Depending on time of production, there were a few different fuel filter housings used, some will require the little washer on top of the housing some don't need. Just look to see if you have a screw in the center with a washer underneath. All in all I would recommend buying this rather than a cheap one from the parts store or the over priced one from the dealer.
